Hello there! This month of July has been all about transitions. {TL;DR} I resigned and moved from one company to another. I’ve been working late for the past weeks because I need to turnover my work as well as finish some tasks before I leave. Anyway, good thing I was able to have a short vacation break with my boyfriend. We went to Boracay last week! 🙂
The trip has been planned since December last year. At that time I was thinking what to get for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift and then I saw a Facebook post from a friend that Air Asia is having a seat sale. I was thinking of booking a trip to Palawan but I decided to book Boracay instead. It was a good decision since both of us haven’t been there!
Like I’ve mentioned, 2016 has been a toxic year for me (lol!). The Boracay trip was a well-deserved trip for my boyfriend and I. Unlike other travelers, my boyfriend and I aren’t much into adventures and trying out new things. We’re actually both introverts when it comes to life in general (ha!). If you want to know, my boyfriend is an INFJ while I’m an ISFJ. Hehe 😛
Anyway, you might be wondering how do introverts enjoy traveling? Let me share with you our take when it comes to traveling. If you’re an introvert yourself and you want to travel, let me share with you some tips based on our experience in Boracay. 🙂
Plan Ahead. Being an introvert and obsessive-compulsive (OC) traveler has a lot of advantages. My boyfriend appreciates it when I plan ahead when it comes to our itinerary, where to eat, what to do, etc. Call me a controller or whatever, I’m just the kind of person who wants everything planned when traveling. Of course, when things didn’t go as planned, make sure to have a back up plan or make use of your phone to Google things that you can do or visit around the area.
Check the Weather Forecast. Going to Boracay on the month of July is a mix of good and bad news. The good news is that the water is very clear and perfect to take a dip and swim. The bad news, however, is that the weather tends to be unpredictable. Whenever I’m on travel, I always use the Weather app on my iPhone: add the city I’m headed to and check out the weather forecast from time to time. This way, I can also adjust our activities and itinerary. During our stay in Boracay, it rains in the morning but the sun comes out in the afternoon. Being introverts ourselves, we just stay in our room and watch TV until its time to go out and soak in the sun by the beach front. ❤
Read a book or listen to your Spotify beach playlist. As introvert, I like to read books on places I’ve never been to. It makes me concentrate on what I’m reading and at the same time I can take a pause to appreciate at the view. Aside from reading a book, my boyfriend and I enjoy listening to random tracks in Spotify and just go on people watching while we’re chilling on the beach.
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Who says introverts are afraid to try new things? As certified foodie ourselves, my boyfriend and I enjoy checking out restaurants and food places when we’re traveling! 🙂 We may not be as adventurous like extroverts but we do enjoy eating a good food on places we’ve never been to. We forgot to take some photos but here are some restaurants that we recommend if you plan to go in Boracay:
- Sisig in TITOS Boracay.
- Craft Beer and Nachos in Los Indios Bravos Boracay.
- Food buffet in Sea Breeze Cafe, Hennan Regency Resort & Spa. (I swear by their US steak meat!)
- Cocktail shakes by Loco Frio.
Have fun! Traveling is the best time to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with your significant other. I’m glad my boyfriend and I had a chance to take a break from our busy schedule here in Manila. During our trip, we’ve already started planning to go somewhere else for next year. Ha! Until then, we need to work hard, save money, and plan another trip. We definitely enjoyed our trip in Boracay! ❤

GIRL hahaha I relate to this too much. People going out canyoneering and spelunking and hiking and whatever and I’m just like, no thank you sir, I just want a calm day at the beach.

YAAAAAS. Hahaha! Happy to know that there’s someone else who feels me. 😛
I’m the type of person who’s completely contented to see the beach alone and do nothing. ❤
